Acentia Launches Centers of Excellence To Deliver Repeatable Customer Solutions


Former Cisco, Northrop Grumman Executive David Gagliano Joins the
Company to lead Enterprise Architecture Strategy
 

Falls Church, VA – JANUARY 9, 2012 – Acentia today announced that veteran technology executive David Gagliano has joined the company as Director of Enterprise Architecture (EA) within the company’s Centers of Excellence (COEs).

In his new position, Mr. Gagliano will draw upon 30 years of experience leading complex systems engineering, integration, and applied research and development projects that leverage cutting-edge technologies. Mr. Gagliano will play a key role in creating and overseeing operations of Acentia’s COEs in support of the mission-critical needs of its customers. As EA Practice Lead, he will oversee Acentia’s advanced EA, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and Cloud/“Big Data” Enterprise Integration Strategy and Solutions. Mr. Gagliano will report to directly to Dr. Tom Woteki, Chief Architect within the Strategy and Solutions organization.

Acentia’s COEs bring together thought-leadership, best practices, and state-of-the-art solutions to drive business results in key strategic focus areas. The COEs serve to ensure ongoing leadership of Acentia’s management and technical solutions and support leading edge service delivery to customers.

Mr. Gagliano joins Acentia after serving as Director of Customer Solutions within Cisco’s Globalization Center. At Cisco, Mr. Gagliano leveraged his broad background in Enterprise IT Systems Architecture in aligning customer business challenges with transformational enterprise solutions. Mr. Gagliano helped create the global Winning in Architecture and Business Transformation practices, delivering advanced-technology solutions to customers around the globe. More recently, he was focused on delivering broad citizen and community impact through Cisco’s Smart+Connected Communities program.

Prior to joining Cisco, Mr. Gagliano served as an organizational CTO and Technical Fellow at Northrop Grumman (NG), responsible for leading corporate initiatives in SOA and Semantic Interoperability while overseeing applied research in mobility, security, and wireless technologies. He has authored over a dozen papers on subjects as diverse as telemedicine, enterprise services architectures, wireless data transmission, video compression, object-oriented programming, Web development, virtual reality, and nanotechnology.
