Chroniger Named Finalist for Innovator Award
Acentia’s Chris Chroniger Selected as Finalist for
2011 NVTC CTO Innovator Award
Washington, D.C. — OCTOBER 28, 2011 – Acentia announced today that Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Chris Chroniger is a finalist in the Northern Virginia Technology Council’s (NVTC) 2011 Government Contractor CTO Innovator Awards. The award recognizes CTOs within the region's government contracting community for their critical contributions to achieving results for their customers and their leadership within their own companies.
“In my mind, there is no better nominee for this award than Chris,” said Acentia CEO Todd Stottlemyer. “He is an exceptional CTO and a powerful leader at the intersection of business and technology in the Federal Government space.”
Chroniger’s thought leadership and hands-on approach to modernizing and transforming IT infrastructure has won him high praise from customers and colleagues and has helped Acentia build trusted partnerships with government agencies, such as the Department of Labor (DOL), helping them to successfully meet mission-critical challenges.
Specifically, Chroniger is leading Acentia’s team supporting the Modernization of DOL, including the design and implementation of a hybrid cloud, enabling greater collaboration and communication, and enhancing the ROI. The program includes and synchronizes both Federal Mandated activities, such as Managed Trusted Internet Protocol Service (MTIPS), Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), and Federal Data Center Consolidation (FDCC).
Chroniger has written and/or co-authored numerous published articles, proposals, technical papers and studies, ranging from a discussion of high-speed desktop networking alternatives to national deployment methodologies for simultaneous network upgrades and enhancements. He also serves as the Vice-Chair of the American Council for Technology (ACT)-Industry Advisory Council (IAC) Network and Telecommunications Share Interest Group and is the Industry Chair of the ACT-IAC Federal IPv6 working group that is in the process of publishing an updated Roadmap to Federal Internet Protocol version 6 Adoption.
Chroniger holds an extensive array of industry and manufacturer certifications—from optical technologies to security, voice, and network management. He is a Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert, and has developed critical solutions to challenging IT requirements from such diverse customers as service providers, transportation companies, financial institutions, and local, state and Federal Government organizations.
